Privacy and cookies

Version 1.0, 16 September 2026.

In brief

  • We collect what we need to take your booking, keep you safe on the farm and answer your questions. Nothing more.
  • We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
  • Bookings are handled by Bookeo and payments by our payment provider, so we never see your full card number.
  • We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It does not tell us who you are.
  • You can ask us what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@hedgerowhouse.je.

1. Who we are

Hedgerow House is the trading name of Potage Farm Limited, a company registered in Jersey under number 98448, at La Rue De La Hauteur, St Lawrence, Jersey JE3 1FY. Until 2026 we traded as Sheepshed Jersey.

We are the data controller for the information described on this page. That means we decide what is collected and what happens to it, and we are responsible for looking after it. We hold and use personal information under the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018.

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers information we collect when you use this website, book a session or an event, contact us, sign up for our emails, or visit the farm.

Bookings are taken through Bookeo, which has its own privacy policy covering how it handles data on our behalf. Children's parties, weddings and private hire are arranged under a separate agreement, and the same principles apply.

3. What we collect, and when

When you book. Your name, email address, telephone number, the number and ages of the people in your party, any access or dietary notes you give us, and your payment details. Payment details go to our payment provider and we never see your full card number.

When you contact us. Whatever you put in the form, the email or the message, along with your name and the address or number you sent it from, so we can reply.

When you sign up for our emails. Your name and email address, and the fact that you asked to hear from us.

When you visit the farm. Usually nothing beyond your booking. If there is an accident or an incident we will write down what happened and who was involved, because we have to.

When you use this website. Our host records the ordinary technical information any web server does, such as the pages requested and the type of browser and device. We also use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people find useful. It tells us how the site is used, not who you are.

4. Why we use it, and our legal grounds

To take and run your booking. We need your details to confirm the booking, let you in on the day, tell you if a session is cancelled and process a refund if one is due. The legal ground is performance of a contract with you.

To keep the farm safe. Party numbers and ages, access notes and accident records help us run sessions safely on a working farm. The legal ground is our legitimate interest in running the farm safely, and in some cases our legal obligations.

To answer you. If you write to us we use your message and contact details to reply. The legal ground is our legitimate interest in answering people who get in touch.

To send you emails about the farm. Only if you have asked us to. The legal ground is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.

To understand how the website is used. Analytics tells us which pages people find useful so we can improve them. The legal ground is your consent.

To meet our legal and accounting obligations. Some records have to be kept for a set period whatever we would prefer. The legal ground is our legal obligations.

5. Who else sees it

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We use a small number of companies to run the farm and this website. They act on our instructions and may only use what we give them to provide their service:

  • Bookeo, our booking system, which holds your booking and your contact details.
  • Our payment provider, which processes the payment. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, not your card number.
  • Webflow, which hosts this website and receives contact form submissions.
  • Bunny.net, which serves some of the images and video on this site.
  • Google, which provides the map on our contact page and the analytics described above.

We will also share information where the law requires it, for example with the emergency services if someone is hurt, or with insurers and advisers if there is a claim.

Some of these companies are based outside Jersey. Where information goes somewhere with different data protection rules, we satisfy ourselves that it is protected to a comparable standard before it goes.

6. Cookies

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. Some are needed for the site to work at all, and some are set by content we have embedded from somebody else.

What this site sets itself. Our host, Webflow, sets a small number of cookies needed to serve the pages and to stop forms being abused by bots. These are essential, and the site cannot work without them.

Analytics. Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, sets cookies that let us count visits and see which pages are useful. We use it to improve the site, not to identify you.

Embedded content. The booking widget on our booking pages, provided by Bookeo, needs cookies to hold your booking together while you complete it. The map on our contact page, provided by Google, sets cookies when it loads.

What we do not do. We do not use advertising or retargeting pixels, and we do not build a marketing profile of you from your visits.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the ones the booking widget needs, you will not be able to book online, but you can still book by emailing or telephoning us.

7. How long we keep it

We keep information for as long as we need it for the reason we collected it, and then we get rid of it. Booking records are kept while your booking is live and for a period afterwards, so we can deal with refunds, questions and complaints. Accounting records are kept for the period Jersey tax and company law requires. Accident records are kept for as long as a claim could reasonably be brought. Emails are kept while the conversation is useful. Marketing sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe.

If you would like to know how long we are holding something in particular, ask us and we will tell you.

8. Your rights

Under the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018 you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you and give you a copy, correct anything that is wrong, delete information we no longer have a good reason to keep, stop using it for a particular purpose, provide it in a portable form, or stop sending you marketing at any time.

Email hello@hedgerowhouse.je and tell us what you would like. We will not charge you, and we will reply within one month. If your request is unusually complicated we may need longer, and we will tell you if so.

If you gave us consent for something, you can withdraw it at any time. That does not undo anything we did before you withdrew it.

9. Keeping it safe

We keep the amount of information we hold small, limit who can see it to the people who need it to do their job, and rely on established providers for booking and payments rather than handling card details ourselves.

No system is perfectly secure. If something goes wrong in a way that puts you at risk, we will tell you and the regulator as the law requires.

10. Children

Our sessions are for young children, so most of what we hold about a child comes from the grown-up who made the booking. It is usually no more than a first name and an age, and occasionally a note about an allergy or an access need so we can look after them properly. We do not market to children, and we do not ask children for their details.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information we will update this page, and the version and date at the top will change with it. If the change is a significant one we will say so rather than leaving you to spot it.
